Sleepy and Fat

I wonder how long a person can go without more than two hours of consecutive sleep? I am sure I've asked this question before. I have found that I am not loosing any weight regardless of how well I am eating or working out. Troubled by this discovery I turned to the internet where I found the results of a horrible new study:

"We've known for some time that sleep deprivation is associated with weight gain and obesity in the general population, but this study shows that getting enough sleep, even just two hours more, may be as important as a healthy diet and exercise for new mothers to return to their pre-pregnancy weight," said Erica P. Gunderson, PhD, an investigator at the Kaiser Permanente Division of Research in Oakland and the lead author of the study.

WHAT THE??????? What the hell???? Are they kidding me? Well, how is that supposed to happen? I would love more sleep. I pray for more sleep. So as we are all supposed to be thin and well rested. You may ask yourself, "How can a mother with a new baby get enough sleep to be a fashion model?" Lets ask the experts

"With the results of this study, new mothers must be wondering, 'How can I get more sleep for both me and my baby?' Our team is working on new studies to answer this important question," said Matthew W. Gillman, MD, SM, Department of Ambulatory Care and Prevention, Harvard Medical School/Harvard Pilgrim Health Care.

Oh well that solves it thanks Dr. Gillman MD!

I don't think I am alone in thinking this study is just a new way to taunt new mommies and make us feel bad. I am obviously not having enough sleep to fit into any halter tops or mini skirts come spring. I am so sleep deprived I have walked into walls and I even stepped out of the shower this morning to discover the shower door was still closed. Ouch! I am bruised, tired and sadly still fat. Since I will not be able to shop at any store that doesn't carry a 14 or higher I say to hell with it. It's pizza time!

By the way I am so happy with all my comments! I feel so popular. Its like the high school experience I never had. Thanks to you all!

I was once so sleep deprived that my boy spit up and I walked into the room and put a big on his father. Big laughs. It does pass..it does.
