Still Talking On A Wednesday

Pies I'm all about . Yes this Thanksgiving on top of the turkey and string bean casserole I will be making pies. For some reason it has become my obsession.

I went to sleep thinking about pies.

Woke up thinking about pies.

Bought more pie ingredients on the way to work

Talked about pies at work.

I'm making
sweet potato pie
pumpkin pie
pecan pie
and a Marlboro pie (its some 1812 house recipe I saw on tv)

And I'm making these pies all with my rashy gangrenous hands. I'm not even sacred about loosing a in the pie that's how much I care about the damn pie.

Try to engage me in conversation I dare you because it will somehow involve . I don't know what happened. I used to talk about a lot of things. I talked politics culture I even went galleries but none of it was as all consuming as my recent thoughts about pie.

  9. I think I'm the only person in the world who doesn't like pie (with the exception of my three year old who ONLY likes grilled cheese sandwiches). But I don't like fruit or nuts - and very few pies don't involve one or the other.

    Enjoy your pie!

  11. I have just spent more than an hour obsessing about pumpkin pie recipes. My favorite recipe disappeared with the last move along with box containing all my cookbooks. Arrrgh! Thank goodness for the internet.

  19. Sweet potato pie by me

    4 large sweet potatoes
    some honey
    some vanilia
    some cream
    some butter

cook sweet potatos in microwave until soft
    moosh
    add honey
    add vanilla
    add cream
    add butter taste
    yumm
add more stuff until it tastes good
    when good add eggs
    pour in pie crust
    top with mini marshmellows
    cook until set

As you can see I cook by the seat of my pants. This method however does not work for baking as I have often discovered.

  20. I usually get red on my fingers and hands this time of year. Mine is from washing my hands so much while preparing food. You take off all the good bacteria that your skin needs. Maybe that is what is happening to you too. I try to wash only the palms when I wash so much and used lots of lotion.
I'm all about the choclate chess pie. Made one last night and we ate it. We will make another one tonight for tomarrow.

Flyboy is requesting an apple pie so I'm off, cramps and all to make him one. although I could just send him over your way....

thanks for your comments. : )

  22. Yah, it's hard to concentrate on "important" stuff this time of year when there's just so much good food out there, beckoning.

  26. Well, who doesn't love pie?

I actually broke down and bought finger condoms today for my cracked and bleeding fingertips. I can honestly say that I never thought I would be walking around with rubbers on my fingers, but there you have it.

  27. Ah pie. I cannot get enough.
Two chocolate chess pies are in my oven as I type. I plan to hide them until dessert time. My 16 year old son ate most of a pound cake yesterday that was supposed to last for the big day.
    happy Thanksgiving!
