Kindergarten Upadate

This was B on the first half day of kindergarten.

This was B the night of his 5th Birthday and the first full day of Kindergarten

This is B today

Yes B has fractured his arm falling from the monkey bars at school. He has fractured his growth plate and will be in a cast for the next six weeks. He has discovered that his cast is good for hitting his sister on the head with and is currently using as a new sort of weapon. Even though he is in a cast he is loving school and the attention he is receiving for his battle wound.

Keeping you in the know

Suzie

P.S> I am so sorry I haven't gotten to reading anyone's posts for awhile. As you can see things have gone from nuts to nuts and I promise to get to you all just as soon as I can.

  1. Oh my gosh poor mom! You gonna have to wrap your boy in cotton wool. School is too dangerous for him! lol

  2. Wow. Way to do it right kiddo. I think every other year we had a kid do that when I was in school. I thought they covered all the toys in bubble wrap now.

  3. Oh, poor little guy--and poor sister! I remember thinking the kids who had casts or crutches were lucky because the teachers and other kids fussed over them.

  4. You have had your share of it lately.
Glad B is making the best of things...although you might want to get a helmet for little sister.

  5. Happy belated birthday to him! He's a tough cookie. I may have to get a cast and use it as a weapon too, but I don't want to break anything. Glad he's enjoying kinder.

  6. Oh no! And on the first day too. Poor little guy. He looks like he's being a good sport about it though.

  7. I feel your pain...and my son does as well. Our story was quite similar except it occurred on the very LAST day of school before summer break, back in May. At 2:00 p.m. My 4th grader broke his femur, had surgery at Children's Hospital, and was on crutches, get this, until the week school began again in August! :) Lovely Summer Vacation. Did I mention I was there, at the school, and had already signed him out???? :) Ugh.

  9. Hi there! Please tell little 'B' that this grandmother in Oregon says to take good care of his arm and NOT to use the cast as a weapon (though it does sound quite funny.)

Thanks for the update and take care of you too.

  10. (passes the pinot noir...) Yep. Boys. Been there, am gearing up for the sequel. Drink up the red, its good for your heart, y'know. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Hopefully, that was his 'big event' for the next 17 years!!

  11. Hi, Suzie! Remember me? Haven't been around lately but Mama Pajama and I have made acquaintance... And she told me you guys are friends along with Robin of "Around the Island." She's a sweetheart! Anywho, L'Shanah Tova! To you and your whole family!
    :)

    Hope B heals quickly!

  13. Lordy Lordy!
    You poor mama!
(I'm not saying poor Mr. B since I have a son like that, and if he's anything like Ben, he's soaking up the excitement and wondering what he can do for an encore.)
Hope you're getting some good medication to help you deal with all this fun.

  14. At that age he can get away with trying to hit others with his cast - just exuberant boy behaviour. I'm at risk evidently of fractures, and would love to boff a few people with an arm cast!!Very appealing because it's different to the stereo-type of the old lady with an umbrella.Hope he heals quickly Suzie, and enjoys lots of attention...me they'd put away...you go B!!!

  15. My first day of kindergarten, I split my lip wide open on the playground. I guess you can figure that the really cool kids are the ones that get hurt in kindergarten.

I hope he feels better soon (and life calms down for you!)

  16. He's adorable. And by the end of 6 weeks, he should be pretty smelly too...
