Yes my Little B is in bobo (pacifier)withdrawal. He hasn't cracked yet. I haven't found him sitting in a closet with six pacifiers in his hand and three in his mouth. But it is like one of those bad drug movies. B is sweaty and weepy. He hasn't started begging yet but its only a matter of time. I better keep a close eye on him or he'll end up in some preschooler pacifier house strung out on nuks and Playtex soothers. Scary.
Sunday B turns 4. Today is his school party. I spent $40 bucks on goodie bags (yes they're made of gold and contain lots of bling why else would they cost so darn much). I am also making chocolate cupcakes with his class. I'm not a big one for sugar but I keep hoping that seeing 10 four year olds hyped on chocolate and running amok thought the school t.p.ing the cribs and singing bawdy lyrics to the "Wheels on the Bus" will keep his mind off bobos.
Just in case does anyone know a good baby rehab?

Poor guy. Stay strong! In a few days the withdrawal symptoms will begin to abate.
Do they make a patch for that?
You're a good mommy to help him break the habit!

Oh, poor little guy! He'll be OK. After a few more days, he'll probably forget all about them.
Happy birthday to B!
I hope it's not too bad for him.
I once heard Kelly Ripa talking about when her baby girl finally gave up the pacifier. She said that she found her hiding in a closet sucking on one of the toy pacifiers that came with her baby doll. I thought that was hilarious.
Not sure if this will work for you or not, but here goes.
I broke my little guy in one day!
I located (those things hide everywhere) all of the pacifiers, went into the kitchen and chopped off all of the nipples - down to the base. I then lay them on the counter. When my little guy came for one and tried to put it in his mouth he looked puzzled. He asked what happened . . . I took one look and said - Oh Dear it is broke. You should throw it in the garbage. Much to my delight he did throw it away. He also returned to find a non broken one . . . after he went through all of them (like 20) he had thrown them all away and never mentioned them again. It was wonderful.
Poor B! What a rough time! I'm sure the first few days are the worst...
Happy Birthday B!
is the present he got helping? that really helped with my oldest giving up her pacifier.
for us the first night was worse... the second night was a little bad and the 3rd-5th they'd just ask for it once or twice.
good luck! stay strong. :)
Happy Birthday B!
It's a good thing I don't know your address because I'm the kind of friend that would have sent the Baby B binks for his birthday.
It's true, thats just how I roll.
I think the best way to get through B's withdrawls is vodka... for you. ; }
I have great faith in little B but I'm not sure about his mother. lol
Someday they'll tell their therapists otherwise, but I think some of these things are harder on the moms.
Hope you both feel better soon.
Oh bless his heart! I hope things will even out for him. Maybe the party will help him. :)
Oh we remember that day for ours!! Hope the party helps (you and the little guy!!!)
blessings,
kari & kijsa
my advice: take two martinis and call me in the morning.
Send him to the same one David Duchovny went to. He has trouble keeping things out of his mouth too. lol
Oh, poor B, having paci withdrawals. I have no advice as we will be holding an intervention for Miss A in November.
Happy Birthday bubba!
When you find one I will send Rhett as well. It is pretty pitiful around here. The child is begging to go to bed since I let him have them in bed...
Aww, I feel your pain. Getting our daughter to kick the binky habit was brutal.
May the force be with you.
Ah! Just caught up on the last few days.
Oh noes! Giving up the dummies (bobo's) is hard work. Shortly after I chucked all of Amy's, she decided that she actually really needs to hug my (bare) boobs at every opportunity when she is grumpy. Sigh.
Good luck with that rehab search.
it's very impressive that he hasn't begged for it bad. he must really want to be a big boy...
He's going to be fine. You timed it perfectly with everything going on right now. Happy bday to him!
Binkie withdrawals can be tough.
On you.
Good luck.
I gave you something today. Come over.
Hang in there, it probably is harder on you than it is him. Just watch that he doesn't try to use his thumb as a replacement, that's even a harder habit to break. Hugs to you all.
Poor guy!! He'll make it through...and so will you!
Suzie, why put him through this? I sucked my thumb for a very long time. But when it came time for my wedding I walked down the aisle thumb-free...i.e. I had my thumbs on my hands but not in my mouth. :)
